Where Are You?

DAY 1:

How do I start? Where do I begin? How does one get to his/her God ordained destiny? As I begin to ponder this thought my mind shifts to something we all use… the GPS/navigation system on our phone. In order to get to a desired destination somewhere during the process we all must identify and input our current location. Now have you ever been so lost will driving that you pull over to the side of the road trying to figure out where you are? I know I have. What I hate the most is when the building or house I’m sitting in front of does not have an address. I’m stretching my neck trying to find a street sign, a house with a number, a cat or a dog that would give me any indication of where I am. When this occurs this leaves me in guessing the address hoping I am somewhere close so I can have a starting point to get to my destination. This is the same in our everyday life. Sometimes in life we have a false perception of where we really are. For example to the outside world we might feels as if we are in one place, full of confidence, unstoppable. Only to find out when we are alone we are completely lost, full of insecurities and in a state of paralyze and fear. When this occurs we oftentimes will find it difficult to reach our final destination all because we do not know where we really are.

As we go throughout this journey to love you will see that I am all about using myself as an example first. So where am I you ask? I am at a point in life where I have decided I can not allow the busyness of life to prevent me from focusing on the business of self. I have allowed the busyness of life to keep me from maintaining better contact with my family and friends (SORRY GUYS). I have allowed the busyness of life has also cost me many trips to McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Chili’s because I did not have time or I was too tired to cook. I have allowed busyness of life to not allow myself much time for 1:1 time with God (if some of us who are believers did this more often then maybe we would know what to spend out time on and what not to). In addition to all of the above the busyness of self has me missing out on much needed time with myself and in all actuality I am pretty amazing and so are YOU!

I have decided from henceforth I will be in the business of self and not into the business of self. Anything that causes busyness of my mind, body, and resources will be immediately stopped and dropped cold turkey or it will be redirected towards the business of self.

AFFIRMATION: It is impossible to know where I am going until first I know where I am. Click To Tweet

CHALLENGE: Take 5 minutes close your eyes and meditate. Grab your journal and set your timer for 15 minutes.

For the next 15 minutes assess where you are in life and write it down. Are you happy? Are you sad? Are you frustrated? Are you broke financially? Are you broke in mind? Are you broke in spirit? Are you in a dead-in career? Do you feel stagnant? Are you carrying dead weight in relationships?

If you’re find yourself like me and don’t know where to start you might be in the middle of war between busyness vs. business. Draw a line in the middle of your paper and make a column. On one side put business and on the other side write busyness.

Go for it! Don’t give it too much thought . Just write!
